Great Curvy Corduroy Pants!

Yesterday I went shopping to check out new fall styles and colors.  At Talbots I found just what I was looking for: Gray corduroy pants with a straight (not skinny) leg and curvy fit.  And they come in 13 colors and a couple of different fits, for different body types.  Go check them out - they are comfy, soft and fit just right!

Cute Seersucker Jacket!

Free day - no appointments = shopping!  Took myself to Talbots today, because I got an e:mail that everything in the store was 30% off.  When I got there, I remembered that all full-priced jackets were 50% off!  Not thinking that I needed a jacket in hot June, I perused the store.  My eyes saw a really cute seersucker jacket that had a nautical print lining.  Regular price $149.00, today $75.00.  Fantastic for a lines jacket.  All the sale jackets were marked down even further.  The seersucker jacket looked really cute with a red tank, but any bright color would look great.  Here is the jacket:

Check it out and while you are there, see all the other jackets - I scored a lapis blue jean jacket for $40:

Happy shopping!!!

Can You Wear a Skinny Crop Pant?

Yesterday I went shopping to see if I could find some of the cute crop pants in lovely colors that I have seen in the magazines and e:mails from my favorite stores.  My first stop was Talbots, because I saw some really colorful crops in an e:mail.  I tried on at least 7 pairs, both in their Signature fit and Curvy fit.  Keep in mind that I am pear-shaped and I have bought a pair of Signature slim ankle jeans there before and really like them.  I absolutely hated the way the super slim crops looked on me - showing very lump and bump (even with shapewear.)  Made me look like an ice cream cone!  So I moved on to the Curvy fit crops and viola! they looked just right and weren't too tight, just skimming instead of squeezing.  So if you are planning to go look and try on some slim crops, keep in mind your body shape.  My feeling is that if you have curves that I would go with something not quite so tight.  But more importantly, try on lots of styles and shapes and colors.  What I finally bought were some khaki ones, instead of colored ones (these come in a bunch of colors,) because they will go with more tops and I need something more versatile.  So go have some fun shopping - I know you'll find some that look great!

Ruched Layering Top

Found a cute layering piece at Talbot's today to take with me to NYC.  The weather is going to be variable and I want to be warm if it's cold.  So I flew into Talbots today and picked up this cute cotton ruched neck top in cream that I can wear under a sweater or jacket.  And the neck is not tight.  Tons of colors.  Check it out.

Bon voyage!!

A Colorful Fall Coat/Jacket

Yesterday I went shopping with a client to round out some essentials in her wardrobe.  One thing I thought she needed was a versatile fall/winter jacket.  I also have been dying to see her in orange (which she said she did not like) because she has peaches and cream skin with freckles and auburn hair.  We were in luck at Talbots www.talbots.com where we found a blanket jacket/coat in a cute a-line shape in multiple color plaid (brown/orange/fuchia)-perfect for cooler weather.  I also had her try on an orange pullover sweater underneath.  Fabulous combination and it looked great with her coloring.  Here is the coat:

A jacket in a plaid with multiple colors is fantastic for your wardrobe - you can wear it with so many things.  I highly recommend and encourage you to not be afraid of color!!
